New Construction
Building a new home? Phase inspections give you a look at the work at key stages of construction.
Phase 1
Performed before the slab is poured, while the preparation work is still visible and accessible. We check for proper footer depth and protection of plumbing and sewer lines before they are covered by concrete.
Phase 2
Performed before the walls are closed up with drywall, while the framing and systems are still exposed. We look for bowed studs, improper connections, and air sealing and fire-blocking issues.
Phase 3
Performed once construction is complete. We inspect the finished home, including cosmetic issues, so you can address problems before you move in. A full TREC-regulated inspection report is provided upon completion.
Phase 2 in the field · Before the drywall goes up

My Story

When I bought my first home, I experienced what a poor home inspection can cost. It is my goal to never let that happen to one of my clients. My work is a passion based on my personal experiences.
I'm a Central Texas native, born and raised, and a Texan through and through. Before I ever stepped into an attic as an inspector, I spent 12 years in oil and gas field production across South, Central and West Texas. Long days in the heat, the cold and the tight spots most people would rather avoid became second nature, and along the way I came to know this state like the back of my hand.
Off the clock, you'll find me outdoors. I love fishing, hunting, golfing, wildlife photography and hiking with my Labrador Retriever, and some of my favorite days are spent at the wonderful parks near our home with my dog and my young son.
Family owned and independently operated. A.M.P. Inspections is a true family business, and about as small as they come in both regards. When you hire us, you get me, personally handling every aspect of your inspection from the first call to the final report.

Technology
Every inspection is backed by modern equipment that helps uncover what a visual walk-through alone might miss, so we surpass the minimum standards required by TREC in many areas.
Thermal imaging in action
Detects missing insulation, hidden leaks and overheated circuits that the eye alone cannot see.
Used for roof inspection and land surveying, giving a clear view of areas that are hard to reach safely.
A camera inspection of the lateral drain lines that carry wastewater away from the home.
Checks gas lines and connections for combustible gas leaks.
Tests built-in microwaves for radiation leakage.

Integrity You Can Verify
In this industry, it's common to see decades of "combined experience" advertised as if it belonged to one inspector. A quick look at a TREC license often tells a different story. Every claim on this site is mine and mine alone, from my license and my experience since 2016 to my reviews, and you are welcome to verify my TREC license (TREC#22234) for yourself.
Today, technology makes it easier than ever to fake it until you make it. I have been building my reputation since long before that shortcut existed. The real estate agents who refer their clients to me didn't find me through clever marketing. I earned their trust the old-fashioned way, one handshake at a time: visiting open houses, stopping by broker offices, and sharing what I know through PowerPoint presentations and face-to-face meetings. Those relationships were built in person, and I work to honor them on every inspection.
You can trust what you see here the same way you can trust my reports and the conversations we have in person. Trust is fragile, and my clients are counting on me with the largest purchase of their lives, every time they make one. I never want to start off on the wrong foot, so I hold this website to the same standard as everything else I do.

Experience Since 2016
I began my inspection career in 2016, before the housing boom reshaped Central Texas. In the years since, I have watched new communities rise across the region and seen firsthand how building materials, methods and practices have evolved along the way.
That experience gives me a well-rounded perspective on homes from every era. Whether you are buying an older home or new construction, I understand how it was likely built, what to look for and why it matters. Homebuyers and builders alike benefit from an inspector who has seen the evolution unfold.
Having inspected homes in many different towns and counties, I also bring a diverse working knowledge of local laws and building practices. That adds real value for clients who want an inspector who knows the area as well as the house.
Perspective is what sets A.M.P. Inspections apart.

FAQ
Texas home inspections follow the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) Standards of Practice, which set the minimum systems and components an inspector must look at. This is a visual evaluation of the readily accessible parts of the property, such as the structure, roof, electrical, plumbing, heating and cooling, and appliances. A.M.P. Inspections surpasses the minimum standards required by TREC in many areas, using tools like thermal imaging, a sewer scope camera and gas leak detection to look beyond what the standards require. Aerial drone use and irrigation systems are always included with a full home inspection at no additional charge. Contact us for details on what's included with each type of inspection.
